Khim Choong, MSTCM, L. Ac., ACN
Khim Choong's experience and interest in health care started in the mid seventies when she studied nursing in England. Her post graduate studies in Critical Care nursing and seventeen years experience working in acute care, surgery and home health gave her a strong background in western medicine.
Her search for more effective ways to help her patients led her to a medicine she had grown up with in Malaysia. She studied Traditional Chinese Medicine first in Taiwan and then in San Francisco, graduating from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1991. Since becoming licensed in 1992, she has continued her studies in Japanese style acupuncture, traditional herbal medicine, nutrition and functional endocrinology.
Khim is also a certified clinical nutritionist and is a certified Morphogenic Field Technique (MFT) practitioner. This allows her to combine her traditional training with cutting edge new healing modalities.
Her main focus is women's health, fertility and auto-immune disorders.
Following her interest in research, she has worked with Stanford University on studies of hot flashes and depression.
Utilizing all her cumulative knowledge and experience in both Eastern and Western medicine, she is able to understand and help her patients reach their goals in wellness.
Not only does she use the traditional methods of assessment, she also incorporates laboratory testing of blood, saliva testing for hormone levels, allergy testing, and hair analysis.

I made an appointment to see Dr. Choong the day I went into labor with my first baby. I was worried that the contractions were not progressing quickly enough since my waters had broken. Dr. Choong was calm and reassuring and worked quickly. She even explained to my husband and midwife about the acupressure points involved so they could press on them when we got home.
