Khim Choong, MSTCM, L. Ac., ACN

Khim Choong's experience spans not only decades, but also allopathic and alternative medical environments. Khim began her healthcare career studying nursing in England, followed by post-graduate studies in critical care nursing. 17 years of looking after the sickest patients in health care in acute care, surgery and home health settings, she boasts a strong background in mainstream medicine.

Her search for more effective ways to help her patients maintain health rather than simply live symptom-free, led her to a style of medicine she grew up with in Malaysia. She studied Traditional Chinese Medicine first in Taiwan and then in San Francisco,  graduating from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1991. Since becoming licensed in 1992, she has continued her studies in Japanese style acupuncture, traditional herbal medicine, nutrition and functional endocrinology.

Khim combines systems of assessment and treatment by being both a certified clinical nutritionist and a certified Morphogenic Field Technique (MFT) practitioner. This allows her to combine her traditional training with cutting edge new healing modalities.

Khim has always sought research and collaboration opportunities, including a series of studies using acupuncture with Stanford University on hot flashes and depression. She is also part of a robust and active network of practitioners in the greater San Francisco Bay Area that practice acupuncture, chiropractic, nursing, nutrition, and more. She attends community of practice events regularly, staying up to date on the latest reputable research in health and wellness.

Although her experience and success in treatments ranges broadly, her special interests are in women's health, fertility and auto-immune disorders. Khim cares about getting to the root cause of a problem, assessing months, often years of symptoms and health events. As an integrated practitioner, she utilizes resources across fields, following the latest tests and assessments, incorporating laboratory blood tests, saliva hormone testing, food and environmental allergy testing, and hair analysis.

Utilizing her cumulative knowledge and experience in both Eastern and Western medicine, she has over three decades worth of experience listening, understanding and problem solving with her patients to reach their goals in wellness.
