I made an appointment to see Dr. Choong the day I went into labor with my first baby. I was worried that the contractions were not progressing quickly enough since my waters had broken. Dr. Choong was calm and reassuring and worked quickly. She even explained to my husband and midwife about the acupressure points involved so they could press on them when we got home. After I left Dr. Choong's office, it only took 2 hours before my contractions were 3 minutes apart and a minute long each. 7 hours after that, my baby girl was born! I was unhappy with western medicine diagnosis/treatment with my (asthma) difficulty breathing and my (UC) intestinal problems. I was very comfortable with Dr. Choong’s professional attitude and her ability to explain her process of treatment in both western and eastern medicine terms. To my benefit, I also found her very determined to find the root cause of the problem and discussed these findings with my regular doctors, they even altered their treatment. An interesting note that when I was home after her appointments sometimes my son would want to show me some project he was working on after dinner, but he would first ask if I had gone to see Dr. Khim. His response, “Oh you will be sound asleep in your chair if you went to her today.” And yes indeed, I was really relaxed after each treatment. I would not have believed that it could have helped me in the matter that it did. My expectations were to just get a little better, and I got a lot better. I started with allergies, and progressed to digestion and other medical difficulties with my gut. I had allergies in the beginning of the summer and in August since I was a young child. With Dr. Khims help, I’ve been able to come up with a course of action that minimizes the uncomfortable symptoms throughout the year. I have been under Khim Choong’s care since 2015. She has provided nutritional and herbal support, as well as light, cupping and moxibustion therapies, plus acupuncture. I have had multiple serious medical issues, torn tendons and muscles, herniated my spine and other physical injuries over the years. My western doctors merely wanted to do ‘try’ multiple prescriptions and surgeries, without any promise of a positive, healthy outcome. I lost untold hours from work before I came to Dr Choong’s practice and care. Actually, I tried a few of the western doctors recommendations with catastrophic results. Dr Choong then had to help remediate a larger problem. In every case, her nutritional support and therapeutic treatments brought my body back to stasis and a return to a normal life! My brother-in-law is autistic, being a mental age of about 2 yrs old even tho he’s nearly 60 years old now. He is unable to tell us when or where he hurts or that he is feeling sick or dizzy, as he is monosyllabic, leaving us to ‘guess’ if he is sick or injured and at what might be wrong. We brought him to Dr Choong at age 53 years when he had a severe case of H1N1, leading to hyperkalemia (the inability for his body to process potassium leaving excessively high levels in his blood causing extreme weight loss and other serious problems such as kidney failure). His western docs told us that there was nothing to do but try some prescriptions but they would not heal him, the medications would eventually cause kidney failure, and we would have just wait for him to die, probably ‘in a year or so’. Because of my amazing results under Dr Choong’s care we knew she would help him. She ordered blood tests and did muscle testing providing us with accurate diagnoses of his medical problems, which were not just limited to hyperkalemia. Dr Choong treated him with a combination of herbal medicine, Standard Process nutritional support and detailed advice on his daily dietary needs and restrictions, plus acupuncture and while it took nearly a year, he recovered completely! His potassium levels have been in the normal range for over 3 years now. He is healthy in every way and enjoying his life with Dr Choong continuing to test him and provide nutritional support! Because of these successes my husband chose to join Dr Choong’s practice. He has glaucoma and high cholesterol (hereditary condition). She started treating him when his eye pressure was as high as 18 in one eye and 21 in the other. His ‘bad’ cholesterol levels were through the roof and his ‘good’ cholesterol levels were low. His western doctors wanted to put him on prescriptions that had terrible side effects, and made no mention of nutritional support or change. Through Dr Choong’s muscle testing, lab tests, nutritional support and dietary guidance both his cholesterol and eye pressures have returned to the normal ranges! At 70 years old he is living his best life! Dr Choong is a miracle worker in our eyes! She provides our family with excellent health allowing us to live full lives. We no longer worry about our health status knowing that when we experience a health concern Dr Choong will know exactly what our body needs to return to normal. We have, and continue to avoid scary communicable diseases like the flu and Covid-19 because Dr Choong tests us and recommends appropriate nutrition advice, support and supplements to take prophylactically. I began seeing Doctor Kim Choong in May of 2018. My sister was struggling with some health issues and my mom decided that taking me to Los Gatos Oreintal Medicine could be beneficial. I have a history of heart issues and had heart surgery when I was three years old. I also found out I was severely anemic four years ago and was placed on heavy iron supplements. Additionally, I own a horse and am allergic to hay and horse hair. I constantly struggled with having hive breakouts, swollen eyes and constant sneezing throughout the day. The first day I saw Kim we identified all these issues and more. I learned I was gluten and dairy intolerant and wasn’t too happy about it as grilled cheese is one of my favorite foods.
