Honoring an LGOM Founder

Andrew Fitzcharles, MS, L. Ac.

Khim Choong (center) and Andrew Fitzcharles (left) owned and operated Los Gatos Oriental Medicine as a husband and wife team for many years.

Andrew passed away on April 18, 2017. He is survived by Khim, their son, friends, and a devoted patient community.

Andrew graduated from The American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1989 and was licensed the following year. He had a lifelong interest in natural healing having spent some of his early years on a farm in Vermont and living in India.

In addition to his private clinical work, Andrew spent over eight years working with patients in the San Francisco Public Health clinic system at several locations. He also spent several years working in a hospital setting focusing on Acute Rehabilitation at the College Clinic of the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (ACTCM, Davies Campus) in San Francisco.

His passion for healing and exploring the limits of acupuncture caused him to be involved in a number of research projects including the treatment of menopausal hot flashes, depression, neuropathy and stroke rehabilitation.

Throughout his career, Andrew taught students of Chinese medicine in a college setting. He also presented and taught Chinese medicine to Western Medical Doctors interested in the topic. He also served as Dean of The Masters program at ACTCM in San Francisco and Chair of its Acupuncture department.

Above all, Andrew was passionate about helping people. It was his passion, progressive touch, and love for helping people that led him and Khim to found Los Gatos Oriental Medicine. He is missed deeply by his family, friends, and patients. If you have a story you'd like to share about Andrew, we'd always love to hear it. Email us admin@losgatosorientalmedicine.com
